Coil slitting, cut-to-length and steel cutting

Buying steel already processed to size reduces scrap, saves workshop time and makes site handling safer. Service-centre processing is especially valuable for manufacturers running repeat sizes.

Scope of work

We handle enquiries for coil slitting, cut-to-length sheets, plate profiling and section sawing.

  • Coil slitting to narrow widths
  • Cut-to-length sheets from coil
  • Plasma, oxy-fuel and laser profile cutting
  • Band sawing of sections, tubes and bars
  • Edge bevelling and drilling

Deliverables

  • Processed steel to size
  • Cutting report and labels
  • Original mill certificates

What we need from you

  • Material spec
  • Dimensions and tolerances
  • Quantity and packing requirements

Process

How the work is delivered

  1. STEP 01

    Specification

Material, dimensions, tolerances and quantities are confirmed.

  2. STEP 02

    Nesting

Cutting is nested to minimise scrap.

  3. STEP 03

    Processing

Material is slit, cut or profiled and checked against tolerance.

  4. STEP 04

    Packing

Material is packed, labelled and delivered.

Quality control

  • Width and length tolerance checks
  • Burr and edge quality checks
  • Flatness checks for cut sheets

Coil Slitting & Cut-to-Length: FAQs

What tolerance can coil slitting achieve?
Slitting width tolerance depends on thickness and equipment; tight tolerances in the region of ±0.1–0.2 mm are common for thin gauges. Agree tolerance at order.
Is laser cutting better than plasma?
Laser gives finer detail and tighter tolerance on thinner plate. Plasma is fast and economical for medium thicknesses; oxy-fuel suits very thick plate.
Do processed materials keep traceability?
Yes — processed pieces should be labelled to link back to the original coil or plate certificate.
