Structural steel sections for Saudi projects

Structural sections are the load-bearing skeleton of warehouses, factories, commercial towers, pipe racks and platforms. Getting the profile, grade and documentation right at the procurement stage avoids redesign, rejected deliveries and site delays.

Overview

We handle enquiries for European (IPE, HEA, HEB), British (UB, UC, PFC) and American (W-shape) profiles, together with channels and angles, supplied in stock lengths or cut to size for fabrication. Tell us the section schedule from your drawings and we will confirm availability, lead time and certification before you commit.

Available forms

  • IPE and IPN I-beams
  • HEA, HEB and HEM wide-flange H-beams
  • Universal beams (UB) and universal columns (UC)
  • American wide-flange W-shapes
  • UPN / UPE / PFC channels
  • Equal and unequal angles
  • Cut-to-length, drilled or coped sections for fabrication

Selection guidance

How to specify structural steel sections

01

Match the grade to the design

S355 / A572 Gr.50 gives roughly 30% more yield strength than S275 / A36 and often reduces section weight. Never substitute a lower grade without the structural engineer's written approval.

02

Check the profile standard

An HEB 300 and a UC 305×305 are similar but not interchangeable on drawings. Confirm whether your design uses European, British or American tables before ordering.

03

Plan lengths around transport

12 m lengths minimise splices but need suitable trailers and site access. Ask for cut-to-length supply when site cranage or storage is limited.

Documents to request

Mill test certificate (EN 10204 3.1) · Section dimension conformity · Heat / cast number marking · Coating certificate where galvanized or primed

Structural Steel Sections: FAQs

What is the difference between IPE and HEA/HEB beams?
IPE beams have narrow flanges and are efficient in bending, so they are common for floor beams and rafters. HEA and HEB are wide-flange H-sections with similar flange width and depth, giving better performance as columns and in combined bending and compression. HEB is the heavier series of the two.
Can structural sections be supplied cut, drilled or primed?
Yes. Sections can be supplied in stock lengths, cut to length, or processed for fabrication. Share your cutting list or shop drawings with the enquiry so processing can be quoted accurately.
Which certificate should I ask for?
For structural use, request an EN 10204 type 3.1 inspection certificate (mill test certificate) that shows chemical composition, mechanical properties and the heat number marked on the steel.
