Steel coils for manufacturers and roll formers

Coils are the most economical form of flat steel for high-volume users: pipe and tube mills, roll formers producing purlins, decking and roofing, and manufacturers of panels, appliances and enclosures.

Overview

We take enquiries for master coils and slit coils, matched to your line's coil weight, inner diameter and width requirements. Specify grade, thickness, width, coating and monthly volume so supply can be planned rather than bought spot.

Available forms

  • Hot rolled coil (HRC) and HRPO
  • Cold rolled coil (CRC)
  • Galvanized coil (GI)
  • Galvalume coil (GL)
  • Pre-painted coil (PPGI/PPGL)
  • Slit coils / narrow strip

Selection guidance

How to specify steel coils (hrc, crc, gi, ppgi)

01

Confirm line constraints

Inner diameter, maximum coil weight and maximum outer diameter must match your decoiler and handling equipment.

02

Specify paint system by exposure

Polyester suits mild exposure; silicon-modified polyester (SMP) and PVDF offer better UV and colour retention for hot climates.

03

Agree flatness and edge condition

For precision forming, agree flatness tolerance and mill edge vs. trimmed edge in advance.

Steel Coils (HRC, CRC, GI, PPGI): FAQs

What is the difference between HRC and CRC?
Hot-rolled coil is rolled above recrystallisation temperature and has a scaled surface and wider tolerances. Cold-rolled coil is further reduced at room temperature, giving a smoother surface, tighter tolerances and higher surface quality for forming and painting.
Can coils be slit to narrow widths?
Yes. Master coils can be slit into narrow strips for roll forming or tube making. See our coil slitting and cutting service.
What information do I need for a coil quotation?
Grade, thickness, width, coating or paint system and colour, coil ID, maximum coil weight, quantity per month and delivery location.
